Confidence

"Discontent is the first necessity of progress.  Show me a thoroughly satisfied man and I'll show you a failure."

Confidence

You either have it or you don’t. Right? Wrong!

It can be learned, it can be built, and it can be mastered. And it is important and crucial to your success.

I recall speaking to a woman once about the things she found attractive in men. Her immediate response was, “Confidence!” She went on to say, “You can see it from a mile away. A guy can walk into a crowded room, and not be much to look at on the surface. But, you can tell immediately if that person is confident. And if he is – HE IS ATTRACTIVE!”

How can someone tell if you’re confident when you enter a room? Because - your shoulders are back, your head is high, and you move with “pause”. What is pause? It simply means that your movements and expressions are deliberate and what you intend. When a confident person enters a room there is no nervousness or abrupt reaction to the environment. He or she pauses, looks around slowly, and proceeds with a look of purpose.

It is key to making a good first impression. But it is also paramount in your day-to-day activities. You must be confident that you can do whatever it is that lies before you even without the proper knowledge or training. You must know, without a doubt, that you can learn any skill necessary to conquer any task at hand. It is not only a result of having a wealth of knowledge or skills. It is an attitude that can and should be used to acquire any set of knowledge or skills that you desire.

Have an attitude of confidence. Be deliberate. Be intent. This doesn’t mean be egotistical and cocky. It means – BE CONFIDENT. By embracing this attitude you will see opportunities unfold and conquer challenges that seemed so impossible in the past.
